The RUF conversion kit for the 996 Turbo is available for 460, 485, 520, 550 or 590 bhp engine output
increases.
The kits range from 460 bhp to 590 bhp, beginning with only simple changes to the turbocharger, engine
control unit, and sport air filter. At the highest modification level, RUF Intake Manifolds, a stronger clutch disc,
titanium conrods, and performance camshafts are additionally installed together with larger turbochargers and a heavily
modified ECU. This level of modification requires complete dis- and re-assembly of the engine.
Beginning September 2004, this car is available with the RUF suspension system (hydraulically adjustable).
