The RUF RGT was inspired by the legendary 1973 Carrera RS.
The high revving, normally aspirated, engine is based on the crankcase of the original 911-engine. It is equipped
with dry-sump lubrication with a separate oil tank to ensure a reliable oil supply for the engine, even at high
cornering speeds. The 3.8 litre engine has a high compression ratio of 12.0 : 1. The output of 445 hp (327 kW) is
reached at 7,600 rpm. The maximum torque of 420 Nm abuts at the crankshafts at 5,100 rpm. The RGT is equipped with
the variable camshaft system. This enables an optimization of power, torque and consumption across the complete
power band by a rotation speed dependent and load-dependent adjustment of the intake camshafts. The variable
aspirated engine features two resonance flaps to balance the air for an ideal filling of the cylinders. The
connecting rods are made of light, high-strength titanium. A digital engine electronic, i. e. a motronic with drive
by wire, undertakes the task of engine management. The RGT engine captivates with its spontaneous response behavior
and its distinct revving ability.
The RGT will be delivered in rear-wheel-drive and 6 speed transmission with limited slip differential and short
shift kit serially.
The independent front suspension combines McPherson struts with aluminum links. The strut suspension forms a unit
with the front axle cross member, the sway bar and the steering gear. The rear axle assembly consists of sub
frame-mounted multi-link suspension, featuring LSA construction. This design is another important factor in the
car's responsive driving dynamics. The sports suspension is adjusted for road traffic as well as for track use by
the help of especially adjusted Bilstein gas shock absorbers and chassis springs.
The brake system consists of red-painted monobloc calipers and ventilated, cross drilled brake discs. The monobloc
calipers are made of one piece. The front discs have a measure 350 millimetres in diameter with 6 piston brake
calipers. The rear brake discs have a diameter of 330 millimetres and 4 calipers. The RGT is serially equipped with
a stability management with ABS, ASR and ABD.
The three-piece 19'' "Superleggera" aluminum wheels are equipped with a very light forged centre piece. The front
wheels have a width of 8.5'' and the rear wheels 12.5''. Tires of 235/35 ZR 19 are mounted in the front and 325/30
ZR 19 in the rear.
A prominent aerodynamic feature at the front of the RGT is the bumper with the five air intakes. Incoming air
through the big air intakes on the outside and in the centre flows against the water coolers of the engine. Two
additional small air intakes channel the air to the brakes. A black narrow vent is located ahead of the front deck
lid. Incoming air is channeled through the centre radiator. The aerodynamically optimized exterior mirrors are
electrically adjustable and heatable. The mirror base and housing are available upon request in carbon fibre. The
two aluminum doors with integrated side protection bars save 14 kilograms. Wider glass fibre fender flares screwed
to the body allow the use of bigger wheel and tire combinations. The rear lid painted in body color with the
adjusted duck tail consists of Kevlar Carbon fibre. The rear spoiler that is mounted to the duck tail is made of
visible Carbon fibre.
The standard RGT Coupé is equipped with an integrated roll cage which is covered almost entirely by the Alcantara of
the A, B and C pillar. The crossbar can be demounted.
